**The following blog was a third installment written for HOPE INC, Inc. www.hopeinchawaii.org
Many people have a desire to reach out to others in their need. Many have the desire to reach others with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As Christians we are called to do both, living in such a way, ministering through life.
As I have learned, although someone may have a heart for missions, there may be many reasons in which they may not be able to go out into the mission field. These folks, with a desire to be ministering and seeing lives changed, learn to pray and intercede for others. Some folks may give financially to support another who can go and represent them. Sending others as they may not be in a season of being sent themselves.
HOPE INC, Inc’s work is often this way. As a Christian, private, non-profit foster care and adoption agency, we work to find Christian families to minister to the needs of children. To be raised up as missionaries in their own communities, their own homes, sharing the Gospel, and the love of God in a very practical, life-giving way. This work, this investment, has eternal rewards.
Not everyone is in a season of their lives in which they can bring children in need into their homes. However, they can always pray and many can give.
Deeanna and Randy Wallace know this kind of work well. They were missionaries in Japan for seven years prior to starting HOPE INC, Inc. As missionaries they learned, and ministered, prayed, and sought hard after God. The Lord has faithfully sustained them and their ministry over the years. They heard the call of god on their life, and they pursued with abandon.
My family and I have always had a heart for missions as well. And although, we have never gone into full time missions, over the years we have been blessed to participate in short term missions projects in various places around the world and locally. As I write, my husband and eldest son are currently on a missions team that is serving in the Sendai area of Japan. I am so happy for them that they could go together and do the practical work of helping in the efforts to continue to bless the people of Japan who were greatly effected by the devastating tsunami last year. Soon my eldest daughter will also be leaving Hawaii to work at an orphanage in Thailand.
I am forever grateful to the many people who have helped us, through prayer and giving to have the opportunity to send our children to the nations. I know they will be forever changed by these experiences. Please keep them all in your prayers.
Whatever season of life you are in, I pray that your heart to reach others with the love of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ is continuing to grow. Pray and seek the Lord about how He may use you in this missional ministry.
Thank you in advance for your love and support, for your prayers and giving. You are the hands and feet of Jesus here on this earth!
