The day came to an end. Our anniversary. There was no time to steal away on a date. Ben worked hard all day. I worked hard with the children all day. Worship team practice. Sharing in service at church. It was a great day, a full day. We were tired.
Ben and I came home and worked to get the children into bed quickly so we could end the day alone. Together. Sharing, loving, praying. I quickly whipped up a plate of fruit and cheese, and a little sparkling cider. We enjoyed our light dinner at 10pm. We began reading through our wedding ceremony, taking turns reading the vows we wrote for one another 15 years ago. As we held hands, sitting close, we prayed. Praying for one another, for our marriage. Celebrating our committment, our covenant. Praying for our family and all that God has in store this coming year.
And although, it was late, and maybe not the most ideal anniversary date, I am so thankful. Grateful to God and to my husband. Thankful for a strong husband. A father who loves and shows emotion. He blesses his family in many ways. He works hard and plays hard. He is a good man. A man of values and integrity. Strong conviction. A man who desires to see God move in our lives…to see God honored in how we live, in what we say and do. He is trusting and loving and solid. Oh thank you, Lord!
God I thank you for a great marriage. A wonderful husband. Truly my closest friend and confidante. Thank you for brining us together. Thank you for the plans you have had for us and those you are continuing to unfold. May we always walk in your ways and see our marriage as a gift! May we remember to speak life and love, in all times. I pray that our marriage would continue to grow stronger each passing day. Thank you Father for your faithfulness. Thank you for brining us together.
