Just wanted to check in quickly and tell you about the encouraging experience I am having in changing my habits, increasing my movement, and ultimately surrendering my body and my appetite to God. What a journey!
I will be writing a few longer posts to share with you details of my experience, but until then, I wanted to touch base. Some of you have asked how my “lifestyle” changes have been going…The changes themselves are often a struggle. The results have been great. I have lost 44 pounds so far. Yes! Nearly four pants sizes…There is more weight that needs to be shed, and more refining that the Lord wants to do in my heart.
I recognize that nothing is more important than my relationship with God. And although I can get excited when looking at the numbers, I have to check myself and stay focused enough to be certain that I am shedding all the unnecessary spiritual baggage that He wants me to lose. That is a lifelong journey, and one that requires daily maintenance.
I Timothy 4:8
For bodily exercise profiteth little,: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. (New King James)
