Another Birthday

Opening gifts at the beach

Shani and Kalun body boarding at Hapuna Beach
Shani requested I make this triple chocolate cake : chocolate cake with chocolate chips, and homemade, chocolate, buttercream frosting 🙂

Our Shani turned 15 today. She requested we travel to the other side of the island. There is a beach we all enjoy called Hapuna beach. It has a wide, long, white sandy beach area and good waves for boogie boarding.

We took all the essentials needed for a long day at the beach. Sunscreen, towels, change of clothes, bathing suits, birthday cake, bbq and all the food to go with…

We had a wonderful day. There is something about being in the water – it is so hard for us to leave. After seven hours we called it quits! We showered and headed into Kona for some shopping.

Shani had fun and that was what was most important to us. We had a glorious day on the beautiful Kohala coast. We laughed and swam and snorkeled, and rode the waves and ate together and shopped and enjoyed everything there was to enjoy about being together as a family, in the sun and at the beach.

She is becoming such a beautiful young woman. She has come through a lot of hardship in her life, and the Lord has blessed her in tremendous ways. I look forward to seeing how the rest of her life and calling unfold.

Thank you Lord for our daughter… For the beauty you have developed in her, for the strength she has to overcome many things through you, for the blessing she is to many people…We love her so much and we are so blessed that You choose us for her, and her for us. May this 15th year be a tremendous year of growth and blessing. A year filled with revelation, and love and promises fulfilled. Amen.
