Mother’s Day Weekend

My eldest daughter, Shani, and I had the opportunity to attend a Women’s Conference together this past weekend.

Two women I have been enjoying getting to know were going to the conference and my husband encouraged me to attend, so I did! What a great, encouraging, and challenging night! While I was there I kept thinking about how much Shani would enjoy this conference!

So, the following night we went together. The speaker was different, but the quality was the same! There was such passion! The worship was excellent, and the people were hungry for God to do mighty things.  I love that about conferences…that all these women from different backgrounds, different churches, different nationalities can all come together with the same purpose – to seek God! We were all blessed by the worship, the teaching, the fellowship. I was stirred to press in to what God has for us here in Hawai’i. The details and deliberateness in how we were brought here…how we need to be reaching out to people and taking the risks. It was a very encouraging time.

On another note, my daughter has been calling me her “BMF.” That is the acronym for “Best Mom Friend.” And it is so true! We are enjoying the time together and because we are still in the process of meeting people here, we really are each others closest friends right now. As a teenager, she is likely more eager than I am to be making even more friends…as a mom I am enjoying this precious time…the coffee dates, the walks, the evening time in prayer and conversation. What could be better?
