Tonight I had the privilege of joining my first Halau. I went to a local church that offers hula class as a form of worship to God. It is similar to an American worship team. They practice songs and prepare, pray together, work out the kinks, and practice, practice, practice! It is open to anyone who wants to come! There were several churches represented tonight. They were so sweet and inviting. Several women, including the kumu hula helped me make my way and invited me back again. Just to see these beautiful women dance before the Lord as they offer up their dance of praise to HIm is a wonderful picture. There were so many graceful dancers. And those who stumbled, (me included) were so blessed to be there anyway trying to give something back to the Lord. I will return again and again! This was a lot of fun, a time of praise and a great workout! Children are invited for the first hour. I asked Shani if she would join me, and she is not really wanting to do Hula at this time. Cate was ready though and plans to attend with me next time.
